Community has always been central to Joey’s life. Whether advising town leaders on safer streets, stewarding his family through complex estate transitions, or strengthening the schools his son attended, Joey shows up where it matters most. His contributions reflect a balance of forward-looking leadership and grounded experience: building on past successes while remaining committed to shaping a stronger, more resilient community today.
Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee
Joey serves as the Chair of the Fairfax BPAC, which advises the Town of Fairfax on policies and projects that improve conditions for walking and bicycling. The committee’s mission is to create a safer, healthier, and more connected community by guiding infrastructure improvements, supporting sustainable transportation, and engaging residents in planning efforts. In his leadership role, Joey works to ensure that BPAC’s vision reflects not only long-term policy goals but also the day-to-day experiences of people moving through Fairfax on foot and by bike.
Estate Management & Trust Administration
Joey assumed responsibility for managing his father’s estate and trust, overseeing real estate, aviation, and financial assets. He coordinated the repair and sale of residential property in a challenging market, managed the sale of multiple aircraft, and worked closely with attorneys on court petitions and compliance. He also administered property taxes, banking, debt payments, and distributions to beneficiaries. While this work required professional-level expertise in finance, law, and organizational management, it was equally an act of family service and stewardship—ensuring responsibilities were carried out with care, transparency, and accountability.
Manor Elementary School PTA Leadership
As a parent leader at Manor Elementary School, Joey co-directed three major initiatives that transformed community engagement. He helped lead the Spring Faire, the school’s largest event and celebration, coordinating volunteers, operations, and sponsorships. During his leadership, PTA fundraising grew from $30,000 to $70,000 annually, providing vital support for school programs. He also co-directed the Walk & Roll program, organizing bike parades and commuting campaigns that resulted in more than 50% of students walking or biking to school. To strengthen communication and outreach, Joey rebuilt the PTA’s IT systems and website. Together, these efforts built stronger connections among families and created lasting support for the school.
